Diwali
Chester is excited to welcome the Festival of Lights. This Saturday, 26th October, Diwali returns to our city with a vibrant parade organised by the Sanjhi Indian Association, starting at 12 noon from Northgate Street. It's a wonderful celebration of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
Join us for a spectacular display of traditional Indian dancing, with a Bollywood twist, at Eastgate Street from 12.30pm. After the performances, feel free to dance along as the parade heads back to the Chester Unity Centre for exciting workshops including Henna painting, Diya making, and more.
This year's celebrations support the charity ‘Share the Meal,’ and we are proud to have the backing of Cheshire West and Chester Council, Bank of America, and many local businesses and volunteers. A special thanks to everyone involved in bringing this joyful event to Chester.
Let’s come together to celebrate diversity, culture, and community spirit this Diwali.
